Microsoft’s Copilot Pro users can get creative with their chatbots! Microsoft’s Copilot Pro AI chatbot now allows users to craft personalized chatbots, known as GPTs.
Similar to ChatGPT, Copilot is powered by advanced technology. ChatGPT introduced GPTs last November and even set up a platform for creators to share their bots.
Now, Copilot Pro users, who pay $20 monthly for premium features, quietly received access to this new Copilot GPT feature. Unlike ChatGPT, where Microsoft GPTs are available to all users for free, Copilot Pro users can utilize them but not create them.
What exactly are GPTs?
GPTs bring a range of customization options like personalized instructions, private datasets, and connections to external services. They offer advanced capabilities not found in the basic Copilot package. These GPTs can be kept private or shared with other Copilot users, even those on the free plan.
For instance, you could create a custom instruction for the AI to generate logos or write recipes in a specific style. Sharing a prompt alone wouldn’t be as effective as training a GPT on that specific instruction set.

How can I access Microsoft’s Copilot GPTs?
You can access Copilot GPTs through the Copilot GPT Builder, a user-friendly platform where you can create customized GPTs without any coding knowledge. Microsoft suggests using it for tasks like creating grocery lists tailored to your dietary needs and meal plans.
You’ll find it under the new “My Custom Copilot” tab and it’s compatible with both Designer and the GPT-4 or GPT-4-Turbo language models.
How do I create a Microsoft’s Copilot GPT?
Creating a Copilot GPT is a straightforward process, much like making a ChatGPT GPT. You start a conversation with the builder, give your GPT a name and tasks, and if necessary, provide it with custom data.
You’ll need to use either Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome on a computer to build your GPT. The builder will ask you a series of questions, and your responses will train the new chatbot.
