The talks between the two tech giants are apparently in full swing, with plans to license Gemini’s powerful artificial intelligence for iOS 18, the next big update for iPhones expected later this year.
Rumors suggest that Apple is eager to beef up its AI capabilities, particularly with a revamped Siri and improvements to various apps like Apple Music, Keynote, Pages, and AppleCare. Instead of relying solely on cloud-based AI like Google’s Gemini app for Android, Apple wants to harness the power of on-device AI models.
But here’s where Google’s expertise comes in. While Apple is focusing on on-device features, it’s also looking to enhance its cloud-based AI capabilities, such as generating images or writing essays from simple prompts. And that’s where Gemini could really shine.
